Summary from Goodreads

Welcome to New Vegas, a city once covered in bling, now blanketed in ice. Like much of the destroyed planet, the place knows only one temperature—freezing. But some things never change. The diamond in the ice desert is still a 24-hour hedonistic playground and nothing keeps the crowds away from the casino floors, never mind the rumors about sinister sorcery in its shadows.

At the heart of this city is Natasha Kestal, a young blackjack dealer looking for a way out. Like many, she’s heard of a mythical land simply called “the Blue.” They say it’s a paradise, where the sun still shines and the waters are turquoise. More importantly, it’s a place where Nat won’t be persecuted, even if her darkest secret comes to light.

But passage to the Blue is treacherous, if not impossible, and her only shot is to bet on a ragtag crew of mercenaries led by a cocky runner named Ryan Wesson to take her there. Danger and deceit await on every corner, even as Nat and Wes find themselves inexorably drawn to each other. But can true love survive the lies? Fiery hearts collide in this fantastic tale of the evil men do and the awesome power within us all.

My Thoughts

5 out of 5 stars

First I want to start by talking about how stunning this edition is. The cover is so beautiful and pleasing to the eye, then to add even more beauty to the book the edges of the pages have been sprayed blue. I really hope the other two books in the series and done the same way because they are stunning.

This was a really good story, I enjoyed the story throughout and I got so lost in it that I practically read it in one sitting. I really enjoyed the characters and Nat who is the main character was likeable. I however think that Wes was the best character I just loved the way he was written and the way he presented himself. I wasn’t a fan of Daran and found that he didn’t really need to be a part of the story.

I loved the plot of the story and I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The last 150 pages or so were truly gripping and I was left shocked by the events that happened in the book and was left wanting more.

I’m not going to say to much so my review says spoiler free. But overall a great read which got me lost within the world and left me wanting more.

There you have it folks, another review for you. Stay tuned for more posts.
