Christina Henry has become one of my favourite authors. I first read Alice which takes the story of Alice in Wonderland and completely twists and warps it plus makes it dark but it is really done in a compelling way.
Lost boy is Christina Henrys latest book. Lost boy is a retelling of Peter Pan and is the origin story of Captain Hook.
Christina Henry has a really unique writing style and I adore her ability to take a classic story and add such a twist on it. You are simply compelled to read more. This is exactly what happened with Lost boy, parts were dark and twisted I couldn’t stop reading I simply had to know what happened.
I really disliked Peter, he wasn’t a nice character but he was well written because you feel hatred towards him for what he did through out the story. I’ll not go in to detail because I don’t want to spoil the story.
I enjoyed Jamies character and he was definitely my favourite. As I was reading it was like I felt the emotions he was going through and I had to keep reading to find out what happened to him and the other Lost Boys. There were times however I was like Come on Jamie do something, stand up for yourself !!
The ending left me in shock. I couldn’t believe what had happened and I had to re read it to make sure the events had actually happened.
I want to say that I would reccomend this to older readers because of the violence and other brutal events that happen in the book.
